Here’s an Amazing Short that Bridges Prometheus and Alien: Covenant

Image
Fox released a prologue short to Alien: Covenant called The Crossing and in it we find out what happened to Dr. Elisabeth Shaw and David after Prometheus . Now that’s what I call a tease, too bad Alien: Covenant isn’t just this, David and Elizabeth Shaw going after the Engineers. What we see here will only be a small part of Alien: Covenant, with most of the action revolving around the crew of the colony ship Covenant. Now say what you will about the rest of Prometheus (I personally liked the movie), but that ending was very promising and it’s actually what I’m most looking forward to seeing in Covenant, the David and Elizabeth parts. What the hell happened with the Engineers (I’m guessing something bad happened to Elizabeth and David did not take it well) and how does that tie into the Covenant story (they might have landed on the same planet)? Those are questions that will hopefully be answered very soon. Ridley Scott directed this newest installment in the Alien franchise w

International Box Office: The Fate of the Furious Races Past $950 Million

Image
Going into the weekend The Fate of the Furious is already at $965.6 million worldwide and as early as Friday the film might hit $1 billion. The Fate of the Furious scored $158.1 million in 65 countries last weekend, down from its all-time record breaking $437.2 million opening. Including Wednesday the film is up to $794.2 million internationally and $965.6 million worldwide. That means as early as Friday, but most likely on Saturday, The Fate of the Furious will become the 30th movie to ever gross more than $1 billion. Unsurprisingly the film’s top international market is China, already at $340.5 million after 14 days. Back in 2015 Furious 7 made $390.9 million over there, a number the new one should ultimately surpass before it leaves the country. The Fate of the Furious was big in other markets too with $30.3 million in Mexico(F7 finished there with $51.7 million), $29.5 million in the UK ($59.9 million for F7), $27.4 million in Brazil ($46.6 million, F7), $24.1 million in

Bahubali 2: Just one day to go for the film to release

Image
Seems like it's the season for re-releases for Bahubali. The makers of the film today posted a Tweet - a poster of the film that has already been released, but with minor modifications. Well, worry not. There's nothing with respect to the characters - it's just that the makers are equally excited as the audience about the release of one of the most anticipated films in the history of Indian cinema. The re-released poster of Bahubali 2: The Conclusion has additions to it, saying "Just 1 day to go". The prequel, Bahubali: The Beginning was released two years ago and it became a much bigger than anticipated hit. Featuring Prabhas, Sathyaraj, Rana Daggubatti, Anushka Shetty and Ramya Krishnan, the first part earned a whopping Rs 600 crore plus in box office collections. The SS Rajamouli directorial which is set to release in 6,500 screens is the highest ever screens in Indian history.

New Release Dates for Star Wars IX, Indiana Jones 5, Frozen 2 and The Lion King

Image
Today Disney dated three of its biggest 2019 releases, Star Wars: Episode IX , The Lion King and Frozen 2, and then proceeded to delay Indiana Jones 5 to 2020. Until now we didn’t actually have a release day for Star Wars: Episode IX, just a year, 2019. Well the day will be May 24th 2019, only 18 months after The Last Jedi. Also this confirms that starting with the still untitled Han Solo movie Star Wars has left the December slot for good. That is unless they fall behind schedule on Episode IX and push it to December 2019. It could happen. Jon Favreau’s new The Lion King remake is as expected coming just in time for the original’s 25th anniversary, July 19th 2019. Technically that anniversary would be on June 15th, which is probably when they’ll have the world premiere (or something along those lines, maybe a special re-release of the original). Frozen 2 is coming November 27th 2019, exactly 6 years after Frozen‘s wide theatrical release. Love it or hate it Frozen was a huge

Movie Review – The Belko Experiment (2017)

Image
Directed by Greg McLean. Starring John Gallagher Jr, Michael Rooker, John C. McGinley, Tony Goldwyn, Sean Gunn, Adria Arjona, David Dastmalchian, Owain Yeoman, Rusty Schwimmer, Melonie Diaz, Brent Sexton, and Gregg Henry. In a twisted social experiment, 80 Americans are locked in their high-rise corporate office in Bogotá, Colombia and ordered by an unknown voice coming from the company’s intercom system to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed. You’re sitting at your normal office job when a voice comes from the intercom saying that you have 2 hours to kill 30 people in your office, if you don’t then 60 of you will die. What would you do? This is the premise of the delightfully twisted and darkly comic The Belko Experiment. Written by James Gunn (Slither, Guardians of the Galaxy) and directed by Greg McLean (Wolf Creek), The Belko Experiment doesn’t cover any new territory when it comes to plot but it is tons of fun and gory as hell. Our main “protagonist” is Mike

Alien: Covenant: Gruesome image shows off deadly Neomorph

Image
Alien: Covenant is drawing ever nearer and, if your excitement wasn't already in overdrive, it most likely will be following the release of the below three images. The brand new stills - which have been unveiled exclusively by Empire - backup director Ridley Scott's claim that the sequel will be closer in spirit to his original 1979 classic Alien than any franchise entry that has followed.  First up is a still showing a mysterious figure unleashing pods on the Engineers planet - to us, this looks like David (Michael Fassbender) which corroborates previous reports seeming to confirm how Covenant will be directly linked to 2012 film Prometheus. There's no doubt about David's appearance in the second image, here appearing in what Empire reports to be a flashback with Weyland Industries CEO Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce). The final image - which provides a glimpse at the film's antagonist, the Neomorph - is not for the faint-hearted showing the creature graphicall

Baywatch poster: Priyanka Chopra has her eyes set on Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron

Image
Priyanka Chopra may have disappointed the fans of her upcoming film, Seth Gordon's action comedy Baywatch , by expressing her doubts about the entire star cast flying down to India in order to promote the film. However, she has begun to make up for that with the new poster of the film in which she is the centre of attraction. The poster shows Chopra , or Victoria Leeds - the antagonistic character she plays in the film, staring into the eyes of her fans. Her golden brown eyes peep out of her sunglasses that rest on her nose. Her face is accentuated not only by her eyes but also her rosy lips. Gold dominates the poster, going well with the theme of the film. Chopra's earrings, little golden stars suspended besides her brown hair, add to the glitter in the poster. Another highlight is the reflection in her sunglasses. While one contains the too-tough-for-you Dwayne Johnson, the other contains another hunk with boyish charm, Zac Efron. The visual is accompanied by the word

'Gifted': Tale of 6-year-old math prodigy is formulaic but charming

Image
The tale of a rancorous battle for custody of a motherless 6-year-old mathematical prodigy, " Gifted " manages, for the most part, to rise above not only the "Kramer vs. Kramer" dynamic of a kindhearted man facing off against a coldly manipulative woman in the fight to control the destiny of an innocent child, but the inevitable histrionics, both inside the courtroom and out. If the movie stumbles over its own feet from time to time - tripped up by such emotionally manipulative plot points as the threat of euthanization leveled against a beloved, one-eyed pet cat - it is redeemed by an appealing cast, tart dialogue and the preponderance of genuine emotion over the manufactured variety. " Gifted" tells the story of Mary (Mckenna Grace), a little girl who has been raised - and so far home-schooled - by her uncle Frank (Chris Evans), after the death of her mother, Frank's sister, a promising mathematician who killed herself when Mary was an inf

'Born in China' looks at regions, wildlife rarely seen by westerners

Image
Disneynature's latest wildlife documentary takes us to the far reaches of the Far East. " Born in China " takes us to places cameras have never been, and shows us that families exist in every corner of the animal kingdom. We see the bonds, the playtime and the hardships, starring animals that make you go "awwww!" The film crew was able to access rarely-seen areas of China. "Ninety percent of the population of China live along the coasts," said producer Roy Conli. "Then you move inland and there's these vast areas that westerners have never seen." The film, narrated by John Krasinki, opens in theaters Friday. For everyone who sees the film during opening week, Disneynature will contribute 20 cents per ticket to the World Wildlife Fund, with a minimum guarantee of $100,000. The Walt Disney Co. is the parent company of ABC7.

Kris Aquino To Be Part of a Hollywood Movie

Image
MANILA – When one door closes, another one opens. This saying is especially true for Kris Aquino who scored a huge break after experiencing a year of rejections. In an Instagram post on Sunday, Aquino shared how a part of her spirit broke when she lost two shows “because hiring an Aquino for TV was a political risk not worth taking.” However, things turned around for the better when she got a call from Tony and Grammy award winning Broadway producer Jhett Tolentino, who contacted her last March 23. “He was helping a Filipino-Chinese-American agent friend of his reach me to ask if I'd want to audition for a big Hollywood studio movie about to start filming. The pressure was I had to submit my reel in 72 hours,” Aquino wrote in the caption. Thinking there is nothing to lose, Aquino went for it and quickly mounted an audition shoot in Manila. “We shot, they immediately edited & color graded, both my audition scenes & video BIO. Sunday we sent the high definition mater

Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds in The Hitman’s Bodyguard

Image
This is the very funny red band trailer for action comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard , starring one Samuel L. Jackson, a hit man, and Ryan Reynolds, his bodyguard. This is the sort of stupid I can really get behind. I mean I think I like just about everything this movie is trying to do, at least based on this one trailer. Unfortunately, and this might just be me, I don’t think this will be a good movie. At the same time I’m sure those two, Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds, will make it work one way or the other. Why do I think The Hitman’s Bodyguard won’t be good? For one thing the director and writer don’t inspire much confidence, and there are other little things in the trailer that reinforce that. In the end I really hope I’m wrong since I definitely want to see this one in theaters. Better to go in expecting something bad and then leave pleasantly surprised then the other way around. Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) directed The Hitman’s Bodyguard and Tom O’Connor wrote it

First Trailer For Star Wars: The Last Jedi Released

Image
FINALLY! During Star Wars Celebration, the first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released unto the world . Fans have been waiting on this footage for a long time now, so it's an exciting moment for the Star Wars Universe. The Last Jedi is the highly-anticipated eighth chapter in the Skywalker saga. It comes two years after the record-breaking box office of The Force Awakens, and many believe that the new film could top its predecessor. Star Wars kept up the moment between movies, as the franchise hit a home-run with its first standalone film, Rogue One. Before Episode IX is released in 2019, a movie focused on the adventures of young Han Solo will hit theaters. Star Wars: The Last Jedi , from writer/director Rian Johnson, is in post-production now for a December 15, 2017 release. The film follows-up and continues the story of the next generation of the saga as Rey, Poe, Finn, and Kylo Ren find their place in the galaxy and follow the legacy of Luke Skywal

Does Fate Of The Furious Have A Post-Credits Scene?

Image
Marvel may be the studio most notorious for teasing future films after the credits, but the Fast & Furious franchise has used the tactic plenty of times as well. Not only did they contain the post-credits scenes, but the Furious franchise has often included enormous plot twists after the a film concludes.  If you recall, it was revealed that Letty was still alive in the scene that followed Fast Five. After Fast & Furious 6 , fans got introduced to Deckard Shaw, and learned he was the man behind Han's death. Furious 7 didn't include one of these scenes, but that was largely due to the Paul Walker tribute that ended the film. Unfortunately, Fate Of The Furious doesn't contain a post-credits scene either. The film's ending does a pretty good job of setting up the next film in the franchise, so another scene wasn't exactly necessary. However, fans will still be disappointed to know that there's nothing else awaiting them after that long credits s

The Teaser Trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok” is an Absolute Hoot

Image
Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the two Thor films have been among the most forgettable. They’re not bad, but they lack personality and the fun of the rest of the MCU. Well, as you’ll see with this Teaser Trailer that debuted yesterday, Thor: Ragnarok certainly seeks to change all of that. As will become apparent, there’s a lighter tone in effect, a larger scale, and a vibe that isn’t at odds with the rest of the MCU. It’s very different, almost entirely in good ways. The Teaser Trailer will probably tickle your fancy, but before we get to that, some mild analysis is coming your way! This sequel is the third Thor film and one that works as a sequel not just to Thor: The Dark World, but also to Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War as well. Having left Earth, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) now comes home to Asgard and finds trouble. In place of his missing father Odin (Anthony Hopkins), trickster Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has assumed the thrown. As if that’s not trou

Look Who's Back! Tobey Maguire Will Be Seen In A Big New Role

Image
The Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire is all set to return in a grand new role of helming the camera for his directorial debut on Norwegian writer Jo Nesbo's internationally acclaimed novel titled Blood on Snow. The 41-year-old Spider-Man actor, who has recently lent his voice to the animated film The Boss Baby, is all set to make his debut into directing after having successfully tried hands at acting and producing. However, Leonardo DiCaprio was very much interested in making a film on the same, and even though at one time his production company Appian Way Productions was also seeking to work on this project, scheduling conflict had left it available for Tobey Maguire to grab and close the deal. Lawrence Grey's production company Grey Matter Productions and Tobey Maguire's Material Pictures have jointly grabbed the rights for the screen adaption of Jo Nesbo's Blood on Snow. It is also rumoured that Tobey Maguire will also make his acting return along with directi

Get Out Is Getting a Head Start on Awards Season

Image
While the rest of Hollywood is recovering from the all-consuming chaos of awards season, Get Out is just getting started. The zeitgeist-y social thriller earned six MTV Movie and TV Awards nominations on Thursday, in such categories as movie of the year, best actor for lead Daniel Kaluuya, and best fight against the system (or “the artist formerly known as best fight”). Sure, the MTV Awards don’t have the same level of gravitas as the Oscars—but the show should prove to be a punchy dry run for the cast members, who will have to be on their best behavior come awards season next winter. Jordan Peele's directorial debut has been lavished with praise since its release in February. What started off as a micro-budget box office hopeful quickly morphed into a blockbuster phenomenon, raking in $168 million worldwide. Its plot, though surreal and soaked in horror, is also quite timely, an examination of race relations from the perspective of a young black man in an inter-racial

Gina Carano Joins Jason Mewes' Meta Movie 'Madness in the Method'

Image
Mewes is starring in the dark comedy, which he co-wrote and is directing. MMA champion-turned-actress Gina Carano is wrapping up shooting Madness in the Method, the directorial debut of Jay and Silent Bob actor Jason Mewes. Described as a “meta movie,” the story is a dark comedy that tells of an actor named Jason Mewes attempting to reinvent himself in Hollywood. Mewes is starring as himself and co-wrote the script with Christ Anastasi and Dominic Burns. Mewes is also producing with Burns and Rob Weston. Carano is playing Mewes’ wife in a role that should showcase another side to the actress, who established herself as an action star with movies such as Haywire, Fast and Furious 6 and, more recently, Deadpool . Among those making appearances in the movie is Mewes’ pal Kevin Smith and Teri Hatcher. The film’s executive producers include Garry Collins from Red Rock Entertainment. Shooting is taking place in Los Angeles and Derby, United Kingdom. Carano is repped by Gersh, Scot

Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone Secretly Engaged: Report

Image
Does absence really make the heart grow fonder? For Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone , that may be true. After a brief break, the two actors have allegedly reunited and are now engaged, a new report claims. Find out all the details here! After Andrew Garfield, 31, and Emma Stone, 26, took a break from their four-year relationship in the spring, the former Amazing Spider-Man actor reportedly had a wake up call. So much so that they reunited and now they’re engaged, a new report claims.   “Time away from Emma made Andrew realize she’s the one he wants to make a life and a family with,” a source told OK!. And marriage isn’t the only thing on his mind — he is also interested in having babies in the near future. “I have a longing to be a father myself. A dad is something I’d love to be at some point,” he told an interviewer on June 2. Whoa - a wedding and a baby? Good for them! There’s nothing better than knowing you’ve found your soul mate. Clearly, Andrew seems to  have realized

Colossal Movie Review: For Film Geeks, Anne Hathaway offers Monster Nirvana

Image
Born out of the imagination of Spanish writer-director Nacho Vigalondo, Colossal is a weird genre hybrid. It’s a creature feature unfolding in Seoul, South Korea and a rom-com/love triangle/drama which takes place in a small town in middle America. Anne Hathaway plays Gloria, an out-of-work writer partial to the bottle. Thrown out of their New York apartment by her boyfriend Tim (Dan Stevens), Gloria goes back to her empty (unfurnished and unoccupied) childhood home where she reconnects with old school friend Oscar (Jason Sudeikis). Oscar offers Gloria a job as a waitress in his bar and becomes her drinking partner, boss and confidante. Over time, Oscar goes from friendly, to flirty to unhinged as the two find themselves connected by bizarre events revolving around a park and a gigantic, scaly ‘kaiju’ (imagine Godzilla mixed with a White Walker) wreaking havoc. The monster has been seen before, 25 years prior, as we see at the start of the film. As Gloria manages to figure out

Review: Smurfette gets her due in ‘Smurfs: Lost Village’

Image
Hollywood is so enamored of existing intellectual property, sequels, reboots and franchises that a 60-year-old joke from Belgian cartoonist Peyo continues to be recycled, refurbished and redone. Its latest form: “ Smurfs: The Lost Village .” “Les Schtroumpfs” were born when Peyo made up a word for salt, and the little blue dudes have lived on through comics, Hanna Barbera Saturday morning cartoons, and all the way to the big screen. In this latest feature film featuring the Smurfs, veteran animation director Kelly Asbury steers the ship, while writers Stacey Harman and Pamela Ribon spin an identity tale about one of the most unique Smurfs, Smurfette (Demi Lovato). Smurfette always felt like an outsider within the oppressive patriarchy of Smurf Village, struggling with her lack of descriptive name. “What is an ‘-ette’?” she ponders. That tells us nothing about her. Helpfully, a young boy in the pre-release screening audience shouted “it means girl.” (Rigid gender divisions are

International Box Office: Beauty Nears $900 million With $66.5 million

Image
Beauty and the Beast completed the threepeat earning first place on the international chart with $66.5 million in 55 markets for totals of $480.8 million internationally and $874.1 million worldwide. The film had no major market openings this past weekend, but it did do really well in a number of mid-level markets. Malaysia was the best earning $2.4 million, which is the second best opening in that market this year. Kong: Skull Island earned $2.6 million during its debut there. The Netherlands managed $1.8 million over the weekend for a total opening of $2.3 million, which is the best opening of the year so far. Likewise, it had the best openings of 2017 in both New Zealand ($1.4 million over the weekend and $1.7 million including previews) and in Chile ($1.5 million / $1.6 million). It will soon become the first film of 2017 to reach $1 billion worldwide and the 14th film from Disney to reach that milestone. Ghost in the Shell opened in second place with $40.1 million in 5

Wonder Woman Director On Why The Hero Doesn't Get Sexism

Image
The place where Wonder Woman hails from sounds like a paradise for girls around the world. The mythical homeland of Themyscira is a place where women rule - and that’s all. With no men in sight, the exotic island is a tropical area with beauty, strong women, and no notions of sexism. So, when Wonder Woman does choose to leave her home for the first time, you can see how she’d be a bit confused. If not, then don’t worry. You’ll get to see the hilarious adventure firsthand when Wonder Woman hits theaters this summer. In an interview with USA Today, the director of the superhero flick made sure to explain how Wonder Woman would react to the outside world’s views on sex. “She’s never met men before, so she has zero understanding of sexism in kind of a hilarious way. It just seems totally absurd to her,” Patty Jenkins said. In the trailers, fans have seen a bit of what Jenkins is referring to. When Diana follows Steve Trevor to the outside world after he crashes onto Themyscira, sh

Watch the Cast of 'Going in Style' Play 'Steal It or Leave It'

Image
This weekend's " Going in Style " is an amiable comedy that's sure to put a smile on your face. The Zach Braff-directed remake of the 1979 original sees Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin screwed out of their corporate pension and thirsty for revenge. Their plan? Well, they're going to rob a bank of course. It's light-hearted and deeply entertaining, and when we had the chance to interview the cast of the film (including Ann-Margaret and John Ortiz), we decided to play a little game with them: Steal It or Leave It. Their answers are pretty hilarious and speak to the kind of kooky fun to be had in " Going in Style ."

Major Arrowverse Character Meets Their End In Legends of Tomorrow Season Finale

Image
The season finale of Legends of Tomorrow brought a series of bombshells that (quite literally) sent shockwaves throughout the DCTV/Arrowverse. While the episode was full of characters meeting their demise, many of them were retconned due to the show's time travel nature. One death, however, is certainly going to stick for the rest of the Arrowverse - and with very good reason. After outsmarting the rest of the Legion of Doom, the team was face-to-face with Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher). The former The Flash villain, and leader of the Legion throughout Legends' second season, had left the fight to get reinforcements, and he most certainly succeeded in that front. Thawne brought a series of his duplicates from different points in time, creating a seemingly unstoppable army to face off against the Legends. As Thawne and his duplicates began taking out the Legends, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) got hold of the Spear of Destiny, and used it to make one big chan

Batman & Harley Quinn Animated Movie Voice Actors Confirmed

Image
Originally announced during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, DC Animation is currently working on creating and releasing a brand new Batman & Harley Quinn animated film. Following the debut of the first still from the film a few weeks ago, famed Batman voice actor, Kevin Conroy, has officially announced on his Twitter account that he will be reprising his role as the Caped Crusader in the new film. In addition, the actor also confirmed that The Big Bang Theory‘s Melissa Rauch will be doing the voice of Harley. The relationship between Batman and Harley Quinn has slowly grown into being one of the most interesting in the entire history of The Dark Knight. Originally introduced in Batman: The Animated Series as The Joker’s psychiatrist turned crazy jester-dressed girlfriend, Batman has come into contact with Harley more than just a few times since, both with The Joker present and when he isn’t. Capable, smart, and a romantic in her own right, Harley was immediately differen

Why the Collector Won't Return in Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Image
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is just over a month away from finally arriving in theaters and most of the gang from the first movie is coming back. Most of them. There are a few noticeable absences, which include Benicio Del Toro as The Collector. We'll almost surely be seeing him again at some point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but not this time around. Now director James Gunn has explained why he isn't back for the sequel. James Gunn, as he regularly does, took to Facebook to answer a bunch of fan questions, many of which were related to Guardians of the Galaxy Vo. 2 . At one point, someone asked why The Collector won't be featured in the movie and the director had a very logical response. Here is what he had to say about it. I just talked to Benicio a couple weeks ago. He's a great actor, a great guy. The Collector wasn't right for the story of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 because, although it's an incredibly enormous film, it's a much sma

It is a most Sinister Space we Occupy when Daring to go "Under the Shadow"

Image
There is more than meets the eye goin’ on in the unconventional Iranian horror/thriller “ Under the Shadow ”.  One whole helluva lot more. The setting is a Tehran apartment house during the late stages of the nearly decade-long Iran-Iraq War of the 1980’s.  A woman and her eight-year-old daughter are all alone in the building, and are under the constant threat of bombing from Iraqi soldiers under the maniacal regime of Saddam Hussein.  However, another threat looms within these walls which they are forced to contend with.  One not as menacingly manifest as ballistic missile assaults, yet every bit as terrorizing.  What is this malevolent yet largely unseen entity that is making the girl mysteriously sick and is driving her mom to the brink of insanity?  I came up with a host of theories based upon what we know of this era and these characters, personal perceptions entrenched in both the physical and the metaphoric.  And they were continuously being evoked and then morphing as t

Ghost in the Shell: These Movies Stole Its Thunder Years Ago

Image
What more could the Scarlett Johansson remake hope to say after films like 'The Matrix' already built on the anime classic's themes? Over 20 years ago, director Mamoru Oshii’s Ghost in the Shell was a ground-breaking animated adaptation of the popular manga series and a post-cyberpunk, existentialist projection of a possible future, one dominated by the use of artificial intelligence, terrorism, cyber-criminals and cyborgs. In 1995, these ideas weren’t just innovative, they were bold speculations of the future, creating a compelling, fully fleshed-out world jam-packed with complicated philosophical and cultural implications. Ghost in the Shell embraced these ideas, tackling them head on, but despite its innovation, the film had trouble finding an audience of theatergoers, DVD customers and critics alike. But Oshii’s cult masterpiece did capture the eyes of a very specific audience — other innovative filmmakers, from the Wachowskis to Steven Spielberg. Those who h

Sylvester Stallone Leaves The Expendables Behind

Image
The Expendables may never back down when a mission is on the line, but apparently superstar actor/producer Sylverster Stallone knows a lost cause when he sees one. Deadline reports that Stallone, who served as star, writer, and producers on the first three Expendables movies, has left the Lionsgate franchise over "creative concerns." The report indicates that Stallone couldn't come to terms with Nu Image/Millennium studio head Avi Lerner on almost anything, from script elements to a new director to even a visual effects house to handle the fourth movie, which is planned as the franchise's last. There isn't much information yet about The Expendables 4 , other than the fact that it's expected to start filming soon and that it has a budget of around $100 million. Reports in late 2015 were that it would have started production by now, but Stallone's attachment to numerous awards-season events for the Rocky follow-up Creed may have delayed
